Next, let’s talk about Marc Ramirez’s incredible transformation! Battling Type 2 diabetes and a host of chronic health issues, he felt trapped by genetics and the belief that there was no escape from the pills and inevitable complications. But everything changed when he stumbled upon a gift from his in-laws—a documentary called “Forks Over Knives” and a book by Dr. Neal Barnard. With newfound hope, Marc and his wife embraced a whole food plant-based lifestyle on December 3rd, 2011. And guess what? Within just two months, he was off his Lantus insulin shots and all four oral medications! Unbelievable, right? But the excitement didn’t end there—three months in, he had shed an astonishing 50 pounds! Gone were the days of feeling like a “hot mess” and struggling with erectile dysfunction, heartburn, and obesity. Now, Marc feels like he’s in his 20s again, energized, and ready to take on the world. See Mark’s Story HERE.
The inherent power of WFPB eating lies in its ability to optimize bodily functions. The abundance of vitamins, minerals, and nutrients present in fruits, vegetables, and other plant-based delicacies nourishes the body, fostering its well-being and resilience. And remember, setbacks are inevitable; they’re part and parcel of progress. So, dust yourself off and forge ahead, resiliently.
Here are a couple of potentially simple things that you could do to help you with making change.
Accountability Partner
Obtain an accountability partner who you can connect with through email on a weekly basis. At the start of your journey, share your upcoming weekly plan and review your progress from the past week. Composing this email should take more more than 10 minutes of your time. When choosing your partner, ensure they meet certain criteria: 1) Willingness to read your email, and 2) Willingness to respond with encouragement and compassion each week. It’s important that your partner does not judge you if you veer off track.
Tracking
Monitoring a behavior (tracking) can significantly impact your journey towards change. Whether you track the frequency of your weekly workouts, the count of Whole Food Plant-Based (WFPB) meals prepared, or the consistency of adhering to your bedtime, all of these efforts contribute to heightened awareness. In our busy and chaotic world, tracking helps keep your goals at the forefront of your mind, enhancing your progress.
That’s it for now!
Keep Moving Forward!
